Hinoe Castle Ruins

日野江城跡

Hinoe Castle was the the local feudal lord Arima’s mansion during the medieval to early Edo era.  It was believed to be built in the 14thcentury, Nambokucho era.

Four excavation surveys were conducted between 1995 (Heisei 7) and 2000 (Heisei 12). At the same time, we found a straight staircase that can only be seen in Azuchi Castle, a stone work incorporating overseas technology, tiles with gold leaf, etc.

You can understand that you had a close relationship with advanced nature and the Toyotomi administration.

Currently, Ishigaki and Korori can be confirmed as the remains.
